Hill Starts

I've learned in the over two years I have been driving to rely on the pedals when starting on a gradient. That synchronised movement with my feet has been learned to the extent that thinking about it staggers it. When I come to an intersection, I no longer think about how to start, because I know how to, and I am able to, thanks to muscle memory. I can also use the handbrake, though I've learned only to use that when the slope I am on is steep, and my foot movements wouldn't be quick enough to get going.

Sometimes, we start the day uphill. Those mornings, we need use our handbrake - such as meditation; something conscious and conscious-focusing - to stop us from rolling backwards.
